Many activities require licences, some of which are issued by local districts and boroughs, some by Devon County Council. You may also need to have a Fire Certificate, and comply with other regulations to do with fire safety, particularly if you manage premises used for public entertainment.
If you are storing or selling petroleum or hazardous substances, such as explosives or fireworks, you will need to have a licence. There are also restrictions on the age of people allowed to buy certain goods, such as cigarettes and alcohol. Trading Standards officers can advise on these issues.
