Sarah Scott Jewellery While my jewellery designs are contemporary and abstract in style, the character of my work is greatly influenced by early gold- and silversmiths and ancient treasure hoards. I use techniques such as hammering, planishing, forging and burnishing which increase the beauty of the metals in different ways, and I also combine silver, copper and brass to give colour and contrast. This is especially interesting when using the high heat fusion method of working, as the metals melt and cool at different temperatures creating an unpredictable surface texture. |

This unusual range includes earrings, brooches and especially chains and necklaces, which are favourites to make, and are perhaps influenced by many years working as a textile artist/designer. I very much enjoy showing and discussing the work with prospective clients, and also do work to commission.
