2b Longmeadow Bramley & Gage is a small family busines making a range of fruit liqueurs, a herb liqueur and both Sloe and Damson Gins. Their premises are situated on the edge of Dartmoor just off the A38 in South Devon. They use only fresh fruit in the making of their fruit liquers, sourcing as locally as possible; the Dittisham Plums for example, coming only from Dittisham; strawberries come from Kenton (by the Exe river), and sloes from Dartmoor and the South Coast Path. Quinces are more difficult, and after local trees and some at Charlton Orchards in Somerset, they have to go as far away as Fingeringhoe in Essex for the rest. What makes their fruit liqueurs special? It's the flavour of the fresh fruit, which is retained by careful pasteurisation and the addition of as little sugar as possible. This means that the true character of the fruits is maintained without sickly sweetness. List of products: Blackberry, Blackcurrent, Bramley Apple, Dittisham Plum, Quince, Raspberry and Strawberry liquers, Woodlands Companion (a herb liquer), Sloe Gin and 'Slider'. | ![]() |
