Title: Drop in Festive Crafts with the National Trust

Description: Join the National Trust at Barnstaple Library for some free drop in crafts. Help to make a paper chain for Arlington Court and traditional decorations for the tree. Make a craft to take home for Christmas. All children must be accompanied by an adult and will remain their responsibility at all times.

Description: Reading with the Dogs Helping Kids School Dogs. This scheme is designed to encourage children and teenagers to read. The Certified dogs are all highly trained to be safe and competent in a school or library environment, their owners have also been given thorough training. Dogs are amazing listeners and are an uncritical audience for struggling, or reluctant, readers. Description: It's not a race, it's not a test. Simply choose the books you like and when you have read them, chat to your local librarian about them. Date:Every day. Time available for individual help will vary according to other customers demand and staff commitments on the day.
Time: During normal Local Studies Centre opening hours (not the same as the main Library).
Description: We offer help with all aspects of family and local history using our own resources here at the Centre and online resources such as the Ancestry and '19th Century Newspapers' websites which are available FREE to Library members.
Audience:From beginner to expert although computer experience is desirable for online resources.
Cost: Free. Please note that this is free expert help and is not to be confused with other fee-charging family history events hosted at Barnstaple Library
