This is where Children's Social Care staff are able to find out the specific information you need about learning and development opportunities available to you. This includes links to training courses, elearning and other sources of information which should help in your work with children and families. We aim to make these pages useful for you and would appreciate your comments on how they can be refined to assist you in making your job easier. Please take some time to see the range of opportunities which are on offer.
The Children's Workforce Development Advisors are here to work with you around making the most of the learning opportunities which are available. We will commission training in accordance with the business plan and be responsive to the needs of the service through this.

Resources to support Munro’s vision for social workers’ development
On the 10th May 2011 the final report of the Munro Review of Child Protection was published. Read the full report here..
The report includes a list of essential capabilities for child and family social work grouped under the headings ‘knowledge’, ‘critical reflection and analysis’, and ‘intervention and skills’ (Munro 2011: 96).
