Adult Provider Services

The following pages are for staff working in the Private, Voluntary and Independent sectors in Devon and Devon County Council Staff.

The Workforce Development Team are here to enable social care providers in Devon to meet the County Council's strategic commissioning needs for the future and support key health and social care priorities such as: the National Dementia Strategy, the End of Life Strategy, the Government’s Personalisation agenda and DCC's Putting People First Vision.

These important strategies mark a change in the culture of social care. Attitudes and behaviours need to support service users and their carers to have access to relevant information in a way that they understand, to make their own choices, and in many cases have control of their own social care budget.

Workforce Development aims to assist staff in understanding these initiatives, make practical application of them in the workplace, learn new skills where necessary and, most importantly continue to reflect on their work and challenge themselves and their service to deliver a truly personalised service.
