What's new?
Devon Heritage Centre

The collections of the Westcountry Studies Library, which were previously all housed in the Castle Street section of Exeter Central Library, have been amalgamated with the former Devon Record Office archive collections to form an integrated Devon Archives and Local Studies Service.   This is now  located at the Devon Heritage Centre, Great Moor House, Sowton, Exeter.

It is now known as Devon Heritage Centre.

Almost all of the local studies material once held in the former Westcountry Studies Library has been transferred to Devon Heritage Centre, Sowton to join the archive collections already held there. Only some hard copy newspapers have not yet been moved.   Find out more.....

The South West Heritage Trust – an independent charitable trust - took over management of Devon Heritage Services on 1 November, 2014. The local studies collections held at Devon Heritage centre are therefore now under the care and management of this Trust. Read more …….
