The final phase of the transfer of the county local studies collections from the former Westcountry Studies Library to the Devon Heritage Centre will take place during the week commencing 12 May 2014. Owing to the large scale of this task and the requirement to use our public search room as a sorting and processing area as material is moved in, we will need to close Devon Heritage Centre at Great Moor House, Sowton to the public between Tuesday 13 and Friday 23 May 2014. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our users, but the end result will be that all Devon County Council’s archive and local studies collections will be accessible under one roof for the first time ever from 27 May 2014.

The local studies webpages are therefore gradually being revised.    If you are unable to find the information that you require, please contact the Devon Heritage Centre by post, email or telephone (contact details are on the right hand side of this page)

To enquire about access to the local studies collections please contact the Devon Heritage Centre by post, email or telephone before you visit.
