Didgeridoo Man

Didgeridoo Man

Chris Holland - The Didgeridoo Man is now known by hundreds of school children and their teachers!

A workshop involves a display of about 10 didgeridoos, some Aboriginal Australian, some English and even some made from metal and plastic. Chris will play a bit, tell creation stories and some of the history and cultural significance of the didgeridoo. You will find out Aboriginal Australian names for the didgeridoo, why the kangaroo hops about these days and what happened when the first didgeridoo was played in the Dreamtime. Then out comes the bag of practice didges! Up to 60 people can have a go all at once! Yes the noise will make you chuckle, and we do a lot of laughing as Chris takes you through the basics of playing and even gets the whole group telling a simple story with sound effects on the didge.
