There is a range of new technologies which can contribute to reducing our impact on the environment. Devon County Council promotes the development and use of environmental technologies in Devon and is participating in several new initiatives.
Renewable Energy Sector Support
Regen SW are delivering a programme of services to support the renewable energy sector, across Devon, until the end of March 2011. Recognising rapid growth in the Low Carbon sector, renewable energy businesses can benefit from one to one professional Mentoring Support, Collaboration and Networking opportunities and Skills Development. Devon Association for Renewable Energy is a not for profit company whose mission is to promote the production of Renewable Energy in Devon. We provide independent advice on energy efficiency and renewable energy to Local Authorities, Businesses, Community groups and Individuals. We offer various commercial assessments including Micro Hydro. Devon Sustainable Building Initiative (DSBI)
An independent not-for-profit organisation which promotes and enables sustainable building in Devon and beyond. The DSBI provides advice and support on sustainable building projects and policies and offers training and consultancy services. It was formed by a partnership of local authorities, including Devon County Council, universities and other interested organisations and individuals.
