Professional health and safety support across Devon County Council is provided by the Devon Health and Safety Service. The team are responsible for ensuring that the Authority has a comprehensive and effective health and safety framework strategy: advising on health and safety compliance and legislation: liaising with all enforcement officers and promoting best practice in the Council.

This includes supporting health and safety co-ordinators in services and schools and the provision of a comprehensive training programme (34KB - pdf help).

The team also provides this service for other not-for-profit organisations on a subscription basis.

Policies, guidance notes and risk assessments are available on The Source, the Devon Council Council's internal Intranet system and on the OSHENS web-based H&S Management System for Devon Schools, Colleges and other organisations who subscribe to our service.
