Getting About
An interesting variety of transport issues were identified - this information can be brought to the attention of relevant transport bodies.
Quite a surprise here: only 29% of households have more than 1 vehicle and a mere 1% have 4 vehicles!!! 15% have none. |

Less than 50% of you use the humble car, believe it or not! This of course needs to be aligned with the 29% return, but it is encouraging to see the variety of ways people get to work. We should pat ourselves on the back - although of course there's always room for improvement!! |

Main Means of Transport to Work |

Do you have choice of Transport?
Yes 279 49.2%
No 288 50.8%
You said: Someone thought they might invest in a "Limousine - when winning the Lottery"….. Mmmm, not a bad idea! |

Alternative Methods |
Clearly 50% of you feel there is no choice in the form of transport you use, but this is what you would consider, given the choice:
Interestingly only 62 people currently use the bus, yet a massive 162 would consider it an option. So what's the problem - we clearly need to investigate further!! |

You said : "Poor yet expensive service" "More late evening buses needed"
We will : Pass details to Red Bus, Devon County Council, North Devon District Council. Perhaps we could look at a community car share scheme?
Getting the Kids to School
Despite popular belief, there are already a significant amount of children taking the healthy option and walking to school! So, well done all of you!!
We will: Pass details to the Head Teacher and Governors of new school |

You said: "Major traffic calming NOW!" "20 mph on Barton Road please" "Buses break speed limit continuously"
We will : Put real pressure on the relevant authorities and try to raise awareness amongst OURSELVES! For example, how many of us really do travel at less than 30 mph throughout the Valley?
