The main improvements felt to be either very important or worth doing were:- repair gates (89%); signpost paths (88%); stop verge damage (82%); provide dog poo bins (80%)

There was a split on whether to keep roadside verges mown and tidy (66%), whilst 69% were for letting the verges grow.

‘Other’ suggestions made included:- stop cattle making paths impassable - secure fences; more parking controls/facilities; anti-litter campaign; some roads to have road signs; reduce number of brown tourist signs - can’t they use maps!

124 people would like to see maps of the footpaths and bridleways in the parish.

"Marsh Lane is impassable due to farm animals and high water levels making deep mud."

"No serious difficulties - you must expect some as this is the countryside after all."

"Please provide dog poo bins and fine dog owners who persistently let their pets foul roads and paths."

"Cut verges only one foot from the edge of the road, and allow the rest to grow and enjoy the beauty of the countryside."

"Remove unnecessary obstructions on already narrow roads e.g. plant pots and rocks."

57% of those replies felt we need a public loo, with 26% disagreeing.

94% (201 people) of us said that we would separate refuse for recycling. 20 people in the parish would use a community recycling scheme daily, 140 people would use it weekly, and 27 would use it monthly.

"There are some recent properties built in the village that are out of character with existing architecture."

"On many occasions the District planners disregard the Parish Councillors views."

"The planning system is irrational, muddled and silly."

"Roadside care used to be very good with previous street cleaner - we miss him."

"Please, street lighting and litter bins at Greenbanks Close."

"Lets enjoy the starry skies at night - no more lighting at night."

ACTION NEEDED: All comments and complete details of results will be passed on to the relevant Authority.

With support for a community recycling scheme it is feasible to start one - an Action Group could be formed.
