Employment

  • 23% of Rewe's residents are retired.
  • Over one third of the population work full time, including self-employed, and of this figure about a quarter work at home. Most of the remainder work in Exeter.
  • Approximately a third of the 196 respondents (61 people) were in favour of a small business development, with nearly half (91) against, and similarly with small-scale workshop and retail units. There was, however, slightly more support for a pub!

"Rewe is a beautiful unspoilt village – if we invite small businesses into the area we will get more traffic / noise / pollution"
