INTRODUCTION A steering committee was set up following a general meeting in the Autumn of 1997 which was called to instigate a parish appraisal. Using a selection of questions supplied by the Community Council of Devon, a questionnaire was devised. The aim was to have a better appreciation of the residents’ views and help to formulate possible future projects. The Steering Committee was pleased with the level of response to the questionnaire from the residents of the Parish, now it is time to put words into action. The results highlight various concerns. We have tried to make this report an unbiased reflection on the way that people responded to the questions asked. Where relevant, statistics have been shown including opinions where they can highlight an issue. Of the 113 households in East Putford (38) West Putford (75) 57 Homes completed the survey, representing a 50% return. The sample covered 160 people. 62 people (82% of those with an opinion) thought the completion of the questionnaire was worth doing as a first step towards the Parishes future. 130 people completed the questionnaire 65 men and 65 women. With a good spread of ages.
THE NEXT STEP A PUBLIC MEETING Will be held on _____________ at________O'clock in the School Hall. Which will give everyone who attends the opportunity to action the ideas brought forward in the Appraisal. Hopefully everyone will attend. Thank you to the following people, who not only offered to help, but put their names forward to help with various activities in our parish, a good response. But lets see if we can get a few more at the meeting
