Environment

Litter
Most people 172 (85%) do not consider litter a problem within Lydford, 31 people do. As we do not know where the 31 live or where they see the problem being we would ask you to contact the Parish Council to let them know where the problem lies.

"Clean up Lydford"
79 people (out of 224) are willing to assist in a Clean Up Lydford day.
So in the near future a 'Clean Up Lydford Day' will be organised.

Poop Scoop
On the positive side, 133 people (68%) were in favour of the enforcement of Poop Scoop laws in Lydford. 64 (32%) people were against and 29 had no opinion.

Maintenance of Public Footpaths
The majority of residents, 126 people (67%), are happy with the present condition of the footpaths around Lydford. Although, 62 people (33%) are not, these should contact the Parish Council if they feel action is needed. 37 people had no opinion.
The Appraisal Committee will report this matter to the Parish Council.

Electrical Cables
The majority, 149 people (83%), want the present overhead cables to be replaced with underground cables. 30 (17%) people did not want them replaced and 43 had no opinion.
The Appraisal Committee will report to the Parish Council to proceed with a request to SWEB and the National Park.

Education

Adult Education
If adult courses were offered, 48 people would be interested, 53 people may be interested but 110 people would not be interested.

Training required

Other courses mentioned were: languages, child care, painting and sketching, acting, cottage gardening, bee keeping.

The majority of people (96%) could get to courses in Lydford, 65% to Tavistock and 71% to Okehampton.

Evening Classes
96 people (49%) expressed an interest in evening classes, with preferred subjects being:

Sport, first aid, clerical, cooking, psychology/literature appreciation, bee keeping, rural skills were also of interest.

Skills within Community:
35 people stated that they had skills they could offer, paid or unpaid.
Those who completed the form on the rear of the questionnaire will be contacted by a member of the Appraisal Committee.

Pre-school
22 people stated they would use a playgroup if one was in the village.

Primary School
There is an overwhelming endorsement of support for the school (84% of respondents thought it 'very important', 15% important). Only 1% did not think it was important.
This response will be forwarded to the school and the Devon County Education Department.

Secondary School
Greater flexibility is required in the choice of free school transport. 122 people (93%) in favour and 9 people (7%) against.
This response will be forwarded to Devon County Education Department.
