Lydford Village Appraisal - 1997

Introduction

Over 80% of residents completed the questionnaire back in July and August, and the Steering Group whole-heartedly thank every one of you for taking the time and trouble to give us your views.

The questionnaire was put together with the sole aim of discovering how you feel about the village, and while we appreciate the great many of you want it to stay as it is, suggestions have been put forward for improvements and enhanvements. Where these suggestions have been repeated, it has shown the strength of support to enable these initiatives to get off the ground.

Similarly, information has been gained which leads us to beleive that changes are not required and things should stay as they are - reinforcing the principle of "if it ain't broke, don't mend it!"

The Appraisal was an opportunity to get all views out into the open, and hopefully many positive responses will follow.

The Steering Group have worked hard to prepare, distribute and collate the Appraisal, and now we can report on the findings. We hope that you will find them interesting and that they will stimulate further thought and action.

THIS REPORT SUMMARISES AS ACCURATELY AS WE CAN THE VIEWS OF LYDFORD PEOPLE.

We have included many of the large number of comments that you made, but some topics, such as road safety, attracted so many comments that only a representative sample can be presented. We sincerely hope that no individual feels left out or misrepresented.

Chair - Lydford Appraisal Steering Group
