• This survey arose from ameeting that took place in may 1997 between local Councillors, Devon County Social Services staff, the Police, and housing officers from East Devon District Council. It was suggested that a survey would be the best way to identify what was of concern to the people of Littleham. At the same time some of us were voicing concerns about our quality of life in Littleham. As a result we were asked if wee would like to do a community survey, assisted by staff from East Devon District Council, and the Communtiy Council of Devon.
• The purpose of this survey was not simply to confirm what people already knew, but to initiate action where it was clear that the community wanted this. Therefore this summary of the results also suggests possible action which could be taken, either by those of us living in Littleham, or by the organisations responsible for specific
