Overall, facilities were considered poor, with those for over 60's best and for the 25-60's
worst.
Question 26. Opinion of Facilities
- Support for Activities
All proposed activities received some support. There was strong support for badminton and a
gardener's society. mentioned by 72 and 68 respondents respectively. Many of these activities
cannot be satisfactorily met by present arrangements.
Question 27. Support for Activities
- Community Hall
One area of current discussion within the Parish is the future if the present Village Hall. Of
the 383 respondents to the survey, 352 answered question 28 "Given that funding might be
available for a new village hall, where would you want it sited". The chart below shows that, of
those who expressed an opinion, a majority expressed the wish for a new Community Hall on the
Recreation Ground; 154 opting for the recreation ground, 120 refurbish the prwsent hall, 6 "site"
elsewhere and 16 saw no need for a new community hall.
Question 28. Site of Village Hall
- Frequency of Use
Most activities would be supported be over 100 people, excepting youth activities, senior
citizens and pre-school activities, (all of which have a limited clientele). A meeting place for
music/films and space for concerts received most support. All use would, in the main, be on an
occasional basis.
