91% of those who responded felt that the amount of information provided on activities is good or reasonable. This is probably achieved by the very high distribution level of the Holbeton News with 93% receiving it every month and 77% reading every copy.

The village notice boards are less well read with 232 respondents reading them at least once a month and 114 respondents never reading them.

The parish church is important to residents as a place of worship, (110, 34% respondents) quiet contemplation (132, 41%), as a historic building (238, 74%), also because "every village should have one" (190, 59%), and for baptisms, weddings and funerals (186, 57%).

Help and support will be needed next year for the repairs and refurbishment of the "Lady Chapel." These major works are costly but essential to keep the fabric of the church in good order.

Enthusiasm for a Millennium celebration: 206 (60%), want one (although 21% do not, and 19% have no opinion).

Although no overwhelming support for a particular option, most popular would be:

• A Millennium Orchard 81, (41%)
• A Parish History Book 78, (39%)
• And a New Years’ Eve Dance 70, (35%)
• A covered meeting point for New Years’ Eve 60, (30%)

Some support for all the other suggestions, except a permanent memorial (only 14 people 7%).
