242 respondents (48%) say they can usually follow footpaths with no problems. 132 people (26%) reported that they have some difficulties. The most frequently given reason for difficulties in following paths are "no signposts" and "overgrown bushes/nettles". The Table below shows the frequency problems were reported by respondents.

Editor’s Note

We are all very privileged to live in such a beautiful area. Some of us, involved with the agricultural industry, are very aware of our part in the upkeep of flora and fauna native to us. Some of us farmers have signed up to E.S.A. (Environmentally Sensitive Area) designation, where modern farming practice and conservation happily co-exist.

Footpaths and bridleways criss-cross our parish, we have a footpath walkers guide and enjoy P3 status. All our footpaths are way-marked and signposted. They are examined and reported on once a year.

Recycling

Editor’s Comment

Recycling is a key issue in todays world, even more important in tomorrows. Increasingly landfill sites are regarded as "non-green" and recycling as eco-friendly and correct. We, as your Parish Council, have been increasingly aware of the lack of facilities in our Parish. Currently just a glass bank in the parish car park. But with the co-operation of Mid Devon District Council and a local developer a site for recycling has materialised.
