GENERAL COMMENTS

  • We very much want Cornworthy to stay the same - particularly in these days of increasing crime and violence elsewhere.
  • Concern that the survey will be used to change the character of the village and bureaucracy become more intrusive.
  • Pleasure of Cornworthy is that it is relatively isolated - able to live and let live.
  • The growing community atmosphere is excellent - a good example was the recent pantomime
  • The village has a tendency to sub-divide; church, pub, Methodist Chapel. Whole community activities need to transcend these sub-groups.
  • Like to see limited street lighting - on safety grounds; tastefully done using sensors; lighting up areas where cars/people pass.
  • Unwanted milk, it’s the worst pollution of the River Dart - not being addressed.
  • Village Hall needs modernising - too damp, cold and expensive to run.
  • Little concessions to Nature - more ergonomic management of land; large amounts of rubbish/scrap on farms need facilitating or legislating.
  • If the Parish wishes to move forward - certain myths and concepts will have to be reconsidered; the idea of a farming/agricultural community is clearly outmoded.
  • Cornworthy is an excellent village to live in, if it remains a village.
  • Will hate any attempt to build a housing estate.
