HOUSING

The figures below show how people felt about the provision of future housing in the Parish.
NB that respondents could tick more than one option.

  • 103 (42%) supported housing for local people.
  • 84 (34%) supported no new housing.
  • 71 (29%) supported housing for young people.
  • 37 (15%) supported housing for low income families.
  • 30 (12%) supported housing for the elderly.
  • 7 (3%) supported large family housing.
  • 30 (12%) had no opinion on housing.
  • 12 (5%) people are in need of immediate accommodation.

" Village people should be given housing priority"
"Is there a need for new houses if jobs are not here?"

There are objections to new housing development in the Parish, but there is significant support for new housing to fulfil the specific needs of local people.

Recommendations

  1. To pass the above data to the District Council to reflect on the long - term needs of the Parish
  2. To ensure those who have immediate housing needs are registered with the District Housing Association.
