The Cornworthy Community Appraisal Questionnaire was delivered to all households in the Parish, based on the Parish Electoral Roll. One hundred and twenty questionnaires were returned, which gave a response rate of 80%. The households responding comprised of 326 people of whom 292 were aged 11 or over and therefore, eligible to respond to the questions.

This report provides a summary of the results, together with recommendations (made jointly by, Members of the Parish Council, and the Appraisal Steering Group), and some relevant comments from respondents. The conclusions are YOURS. All other comments contained on the questionnaires have been listed separately, and will be used either in connection with the recommendations in this document or considered separately by the Parish Council or other appropriate bodies.

Most of the issues identified in the Appraisal have attracted high levels of support and the amount of work required to bring them to a successful conclusion is immense. Most projects will require careful analysis before they can proceed, and some are more long-term than others; some may prove to be totally unachievable. It will be important to strike a balance between providing better facilities within the Parish and retaining the important characteristics that make Cornworthy Parish unique.

Therefore, this document will form an agenda for the people in the Parish for the next five or more years. Regular reviews of progress will have to be made by the Parish Council, as well as recognising new and changing circumstances as they emerge. Progress reports will have to appear in the Parish Newsletter with a full report at each annual Parish Meeting.
