Housing

A firm majority think some additional housing is needed in Brayford judging by the level of response.

Recommendation:

  1. To pass the above information to the North Devon District Housing and Planning authorities and the North Devon Housing Association to reflect long-term housing needs in the Parish.
  2. To ensure through publicity that those who have immediate housing need are registered with the North Devon District Council Housing and Devon & Cornwall Housing Association.

Education & Training

High Bray Primary School
Out of 280 respondents, 276 people (98.5%) think that the village school is important to the local community. 91% think that the introductory leaflet from the school to new people is effective.

New Nursery School
105 people (70% of respondents) think that there is a need for a nursery school.

Recommendation:
Pass the results of the above to the governing body of High Bray School for information and any necessary action.

Training Needs

97 people say there is no porvision for adult learning, only 5 think the provision is good, 14 people think it reasonable and 33 people think it is poor. The most popular vocational training would be required in the following:

88 people (49%) can get to South Molton, 70 (39%) Barnstaple and 19 (11%) Tiverton.

Recommendation:
To pass this information to the South Molton Community College and North Devon College so they are aware of the need and can provide appropriate publicity of the courses available.
