Brayford Community Appraisal

Results & Recommendations

Introduction

The Brayford Community Appraisal Questionnaire was delivered to all households on the Brayford Electoral Role. 123 questionnaires were returned which gave a response of 89%, one of the highest to date in the County. The households responding comprised 335 people of whom 304 were over 11 years old and therefore ekligible to respond to the questions.

This report provides a summary of the results together with recommendations (made jointly by members of the Parish Council and the Appraisal Steering Group) and some relevant comments from respondents. The conclusions are yours. All other comments contained on the questionnaires have been listed separately and will be used either in connection with the recommendations in this document or considered separately by the Parish Council or other appropriate bodies.

Most of the issues identified in the appraisal have attracted high levels of support and the amount of work required to bring them to a successful conclusion is immense. Most projects will require careful analysis before they can proceed and some are more long-term than others. Some may prove to be totally unachievable. It will be important to strike a balance between providing better facilities within the Parish and retaining the important characteristics that make Brayford unique.

Therefore this document will form an agenda for the people in the Brayford Parish for the next five years or more. Regular review of progress will be made by the Parish Council as well as recognising new and changing circumstances as they emerge. Progress reports will appear in the Parish Newsletter with a full report at each annual Parish Meeting.

Throughout the document, percentage responses have been shown in brackets. In most cases this refers to those people 'expressing an opinion', referred to as 'respondents'. The full list of results is available from the Parish Council should anyone wish to see them.
