National picture
The Equality and Human Rights Commission has published its first triennial review called How Fair is Britain. It looks at the progress that society is making in relation to equality, human rights and good relations. It reports on eight key areas: Life; Security; Health; Education; Employment; Standard of living; Care and support; Power and voice.
Funding
We recognise the need to work in close partnership with local communities and organisations and therefore have an equality budget which can be used to support activities which challenge inequality and celebrate diversity. Organisations (and sometimes individuals), usually from the Voluntary and Community Sector, may apply for funding from the Corporate Equality Budget and funding may be granted to projects, services, facilities or events/activities that meet our equality budget funding criteria. You are strongly advised to bid for funding for a financial year (April to March) by the end of the first week in April.
