At Devon County Council we see appraisals as an important tool to support employees perform to their best and develop the skills and competencies they need to deliver excellent council services. Our appraisals are a constructive, two way quality conversation that is an entitlement for all staff members. The annual appraisal is followed up with a six month interim review and is part of an on going conversation throughout the year between manager and employee.
Despite budget pressures, we continue to recognise the importance of developing our employees and at Devon County Council we offer a wide range of in-house training programmes designed specifically for employee development needs. These range from key skills (e.g. numeracy and literacy), management development and qualifications (e.g. NVQs). Whatever your needs as an employee, there should be a training programme or course for you. If not external options will be considered.
