Definitive Map Review

Puddington

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, amended or deleted. A review has recently been undertaken in Puddington Parish

Two suggestions were proposed to modify the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way in Puddington as detailed below. A report on the suggestions was taken to the Public Rights of Way Committee on 3rd March 2011. A copy of the report and minutes of the meeting can be found here.

Suggestion 1: The addition of a public bridleway from the county road between Puddington and Pennymoor, east of Brookvalley Cottage (GR SS847107) and going southwards along the track through Penn Coppice (in Cruwys Morchard parish) and across the parish boundary, then continuing southwards along the track and east of the stream to the unsurfaced county road, Buckford Lane, and opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 10, Puddington (GR SS 846102).

The Committee members agreed with the officer's recommendation that a Definitive Map Modification Order should be made to add a Public Bridleway to the Definitive Map.  The Definitive Map Modification Order for Bridleway No. 4, Cruwys Morchard and Bridleway No. 13, Puddington was made on the 8th June 2011and published on the 21st June 2011.  The closing date for any representations or objections to the Order is the 16th August 2011.
