Definitive Map Review
Culmstock
The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, upgraded or deleted. A review is currently being undertaken in the Parish of CULMSTOCK
Your views and any relevant evidence are sought on the following suggestions for modifying the Definitive Map for Culmstock (2MB - GIF):
Route 1:- Suggested addition of a Footpath along the route known as Splatt Lane in Culmstock in two section from B3391 at GR (ST 0974,1146) to Hunters Hill GR (ST 1016,1456) and a spur opposite Hunter’s Way GR (ST 1014,1418)
Route 2:- Suggested upgrading of Footpath 12a (part) known as Jacky Southey’s Lane to a bridleway from Uffculme Road at GR (ST 0982,1322) to Silver Street GR (ST 0970,1342)
Route 3:- Suggested upgrading of part of Footpath No.1 Culmstock to a bridleway from county road near Pitt Farm GR (ST 1075,1452) north along the path known as Weather Lane to the edge of Blackdown Common and then to join the county road at Scott’s Shute at GR (ST 1086,1519)
Route 4:- Suggested upgrading of Footpath No.35, Culmstock from the north eastern junction with Bridleway No.34, Culmstock GR ST(1201,1630) northwest to GR (ST 1440,1684) join a bridleway in Somerset on Sampford Common.
Route 5:- Suggested diversion part of Footpath No.11, Culmstock from GR (ST 0846,1381) south east to point GR (ST 0851,1379) to rejoin Footpath No.11, Culmstock at GR (ST 0855,1385)
Route 6:- Suggested addition of a bridleway on Blackdown Common from north eastern end of Bridleway No.34 Culmstock at GR (ST 1210,1630) south westerly along the eastern edge of Blackdown Common to the Beacon at GR (ST1100,1507) to rejoin Bridleway No.34 at GR (ST1117,1155)
Route 7:- Suggested diversion of part of Footpath No.9, Culmstock just south of Burgess Cottage from GR (ST 1105,1607), west and north to rejoin Footpath No.9 at GR (ST1114,1630)
