The local history collections formerly held in the Westcountry Studies Library were moved to the Devon Heritage Centre, Sowton in 2012, to join the archive collections already held there.
Together, these collections hold a wealth of information to help you research local and family history. A large collection of local studies material is held at the North Devon Local Studies Centre, which shares accommodation with the North Devon Record Office at Barnstaple.

The South West Heritage Trust – an independent charitable trust - took over management of Devon Heritage Services on 1 November, 2014. The local studies collections held at Devon Heritage centre are therefore now under the care and management of this Trust. Read more ….
