The first seeks to regularise developments which have already occurred at the plant since 1999 without the necessary planning permissions and also seeks permission for the construction of a new reception building. The second application is in relation to a variation of planning condition on the 1999 permission which is effectively to reduce the amount of waste imported but to allow greater freedom as to the waste types in relation to the percentage of agricultural and biological wastes - attached (Page 74).

(a) Improving Performance

(b) Members Training - Arrangements for Annual Tour

As part of the ongoing programme of Member Training, a day is spent each year visiting a number of developments where the Committee has been involved in making planning decisions in earlier years. This year it is proposed to visit a number of sites in the Exeter and Mid Devon area on the date currently provisionally set aside for Committee Site Visits on Wednesday, 24 September 2008. Members are asked to note this date in their diaries.

It is proposed that a suggested Itinerary for the day will be available at the next Committee meeting.

Development Control Committee Public Participation
A Any member of the public resident in the administrative area of the county of Devon may make a presentation to the Committee on a planning application being considered by the Committee, or any consultation on a proposal by a Government Department (but not when the County Council is consulted on a proposal by a District Council) or a Review of Old Minerals Permissions applications.
