Since 1998, a range of teachers, school students, artists, musicians and other educators have shared ideas and work. The original group established a variety of activities which securely met the aims of the project.

In February 2007, DCS will be co-ordinating a second study tour to Cape Town. The aim is to rejuvenate the school links programme. The recent government document "Putting the World in World Class Education" sets the target of all UK schools having an international partner by 2010. The Crossings project will help to facilitate this for Devon schools who wish to take up an African partner school.
