A series of Health and Safety Flow Charts provide managers with sufficient information to identify the mandatory health & safety learning needs for staff and how these needs may be met and how often they should be refreshed

FREE INFECTION CONTROL DVD AVAILABLE TO CARE HOMES IN THE STATUTORY, PRIVATE, VOLUNTARY AND INDEPENDENT SECTORS
The Health Protection Agency produced a DVD entitled "Introduction to infection control in care homes".
The DVD is designed to be used as a resource to supplement existing training programmes; for example, it can be used as part of an induction programme or as a refresher in this topic area.
The DVD lasts for approximately 40 minutes and is divided into the following seven sections:
- Preventing infection
- Hand hygiene
- Person protective equipment
- Prevention of exposure to blood and body fluids
- Clinical equipment
- General equipment
- Management of laundry
