How it works

  • The Court makes a Referral Order - You can tell the Court that you prefer to attend the ‘Devon’ course.
  • We will write to you when we receive your referral order from the Court - Our letter will include  course information, a booking form with the current year's course dates and times, and the date the Court has said you need to complete your course by.
  • You reply to us with your preferred course dates and payment - The course fee is £145 (or £100 if you receive one or more of the named benefits shown on the booking form). A course place can be reserved with a £25 deposit. Payment should be completed 3 weeks before the course begins.

What’s in it for you?

  • You can apply to get your licence back early - up to 25% off your disqualification when you successfully complete the course.
  • You will be given information to help reduce your chances of making the same mistake again.
  • You will increase your chance for reducing future high insurance premiums.
  • There are no exams.
  • A choice of course dates and venues.
  • Low fees. We accept payment by cash, cheque, credit/debit card and postal orders. Payment by instalments is possible.

To Successfully Complete

You need to:

  • Pay the course fee in advance.
  • Attend all sessions of your course (usually 3).
  • Attend in a sober condition.
  • Participate to the best of your ability.

The Course

Our course trainers are local people who care that you get the best possible advice to help prevent re-offending. The course combines presentations, group exercises, group discussions and videos in conjunction with a course workbook and leaflets which will be given to you when you attend.

You will be given advice on re-applying for your licence and given contact details of insurance brokers who recognise the Course Completion certificate and who can help you find a good deal on insurance premiums when you return to driving. If you are classified as a High Risk Offender, we will also give you advice on what this means for you.

After you have Completed the Course

  • We will award you a Course Completion Certificate.
  • We will notify the Court and Police that you have successfully completed.
  • The Court will notify the DVLA that you have successfully completed the course.
