  • Winter 2008 - Peninsula Motorcyle Forum - focus on rural riding skills
  • Winter 2008/2009 - Winter Bikesafe Campaign - looking at ensuring riders maintain their riding skills through the winter months and make them less vulnerable to collisions as the weather improves in the spring.
  • Spring/Summer 2009 - Comprehensive training campaign for motorcyclist focusing on safely negotiating bends and junctions
  • 2009 - Safe scooter campaign
  • February/March 2009 - Local engagement with communities in relation to the Green Zone scheme including schools
  • Spring/Summer 2009 - roadshows along the A361 and local services providing help and guidance for visitors to the area using the A361.
  • Throughout project life cycle there will be at least 4 roadshows focusing on the business road user, providing opportunities for training and assistance for fleet managers. These will be at trading estates in the area inc Barnstaple and Tiverton.
  • The Devon and Cornwall Constabulary as part of their ongoing Community Engagement programme will include all aspects of the Country Mile Project. These include their Community Fun Days, street surgeries and four specific Country Mile Project events with partners from the council and fire service at Crediton, Tiverton, South Molton and Chulmleigh.
  • Fire service will be focusing on young drivers and will include the project in their Learn to Live campaign. Also looking at innovative steps to encourage young drivers to participate in road safety schemes.
  • The project will also have a strong presence at the Devon County Show as well as district agricultural shows next year.
