Road Licences

Banners

Advertising banners over the public highway are permitted for advertising charitable, community or special events that involve the majority of businesses in the town, for example special Christmas events, carnivals etc.

If you wish to erect an advertising banner over the public highway you will need to obtain permission from the County Council.  Or if you wish to erect a banner next to the highway you may need planning permission from your district council. Banners are not permitted to be attached to bridges over the road.
