How to apply for a Devon Smartrider Student Card

Year 11 students

Year 11 students in North Devon will be provided with a transport application form by the Local Education Authority (LEA), via their school tutors during the Spring.

Year 12 students

Students who used a smartcard in year 12 will be forwarded a transport application form in the post

These forms should be completed and returned to the LEA.

Any student who has not received a form can obtain one by contacting their local education office.

If a student is entitled to apply for a Devon Smartrider card they will be sent a form requesting payment or proof of receipt of a means tested benefit. As soon as the LEA receives the payment or proof of benefit the student will be issued with a Smartrider card which will be valid from mid August 2008. This will provide the added bonus of discounted fares at no extra cost.

NB If payments or proof of benefits are received after the 15th August 2008, the LEA cannot guarantee the Smartrider card will be issued before the start of the Autumn term and students will have to pay daily on the buses. THESE FARES CANNOT BE REFUNDED.
