Bus Shelters

Requests for new shelters

Devon County Council offers advice concerning the positioning and maintenance of bus shelters and new funding through the Local Transport Plan has enabled us to embark upon a programme of improvements. Request and comments from Town and Parish Councils or members of the public are invited and should be directed to the County Area Highway Management Office for the area concerned. There are a number of specialist advertising firms who provide shelters in return for the right to display advertising material on them but these firms are normally only willing to consider urban areas.

Reporting a damaged bus shelter

The County Council does not normally take responsibility for shelter maintenance. This normally rests with the Town, Parish or District Council. However the Council holds records of most of the bus shelters in the Devon County Council area and may be able to provide you with the correct contact.
