Where to Walk and Ride in Devon
Macmillan Way West

The Macmillan Way is a 290 mile path between Lincolnshire and Dorset. An offshoot, the Macmillan Way West, leaves this trail at Castle Cary in Somerset, crosses into Devon on the uplands of Exmoor and continues to Barnstaple. The total length of the Macmillan Way West is 102 miles of which about 20 are in Devon.
The Devon part of the route includes river valleys, grass downland and moorland tracks. Before reaching Devon, it crosses the Somerset Levels and Quantocks and the highest point on Exmoor.
Most of the route in Devon coincides with part of the Tarka Trail. It also links with the Two Moors Way and the South West Coast Path.
Train access via the Tarka Line from Exeter to Barnstaple; also bus access to Barnstaple.
NB: All profits from the sale of publications of the Macmillan Way Association go towards supporting Macmillan Cancer Relief.
