Civil Parking Enforcement

Know Parking image

From the 5th May 2008 the County Council takes on overall responsibility for enforcing parking restrictions on the streets of Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay) and traditional traffic wardens are to be replaced by Civil Enforcement Officers

This is known as Civil Parking Enforcement, which will free up resources for the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary to improve front line community policing.  The switching of enforcement powers to Devon County Council will decriminalise most parking offences but the police will still deal with serious offences such as dangerous parking and obstruction.
