School-run.org

What is school-run.org?

school-run.org is a new website designed to assist in organising the school run. The scheme can help get children to school safely and easily, by walking or cycling together or car sharing.

Devon County Council and Torbay and Plymouth councils have jointly paid for the setup of the scheme. Local schools only have to pay £100 per year licence fee to take advantage of this brilliant opportunity. Once a school has signed up to the scheme parents can register on-line for FREE.

Whether parents want their children to walk, cycle or be driven to school, the system will help them find other parents with children from their school to share the daily journey.

Benefits

  • Reduced travel costs for parents
  • Reduced time spent on the school run
  • Reduced congestion around school at peak times
  • Improved safety at the school gate for walkers and cyclists
  • Reduced pollution around school at peak times
