Social Capital

The theme of social capital is another name for the government's Big Society idea - where we are part of a community where our networks, groups and relationships support each other

We know that greater interaction between people generates a greater sense of community spirit. We want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be part of the community and experience the friendships and care that can come from families, friends and neighbours. This can be achieved by using the potential of the community to reduce social isolation and provide a sense of belonging for people.
