Carbon offsetting

After you have calculated the CO2 emissions from your home or business, and taken steps to reduce them as far as possible, you may wish to offset the amount of your remaining CO2 emissions.  This generally involves buying carbon credits through a scheme that supports carbon saving projects such as renewable energy or energy efficiency schemes.  Central government has introduced a quality assurance scheme to help people choose an offsetting scheme that will deliver the carbon savings claimed.  A list of approved offsetting schemes is available.
