Energy from Waste
Disposing of Devon’s waste is a large scale operation that involves Devon County Council, District Councils and commercial partners working together to collect and dispose of over 225 000 tonnes of refuse from households across the county, every year.
New European laws have come into effect that means there is a pressing need to review the waste management strategy and consult with the community about how changes could be made. Devon County Council has developed some proposals to build an energy from waste plant in Exeter, and is running a series of public exhibitions to gather points of view on the subject.

The proposal is to build an energy from waste plant which will easily fit on the Grace Road site and uses proven technology which is in use in plants across the UK and Europe.
