Barnstaple

Barnstaple is the largest town in northern Devon and has all the facilities likely to be needed. It is the centre of a fairly extensive bus network throughout the area and is also the terminus of the ‘Tarka Line’, the branch line railway at Exeter.

Barnstaple is a fascinating town to explore and locations such as the castle, pannier market, Butcher’s Row and lanes around the church are well worth investigating.
