Emergencies

Emergencies cover a range of situations, including ‘sudden impact’ events such as transport accidents or terrorist attacks, ‘slow-burn’ events such as Foot & Mouth or the fuel crisis, and ‘anticipated’ events which can be planned for, eg industrial accidents, flooding, etc. Responding to emergencies is usually the task of a number of agencies, including local authorities, and will in most instances be led by the Police or one of the other emergency services.
