Background to the competition

Earlier this year, Devon County Council launched a competition to find a Song for Devon which captures our county’s unique and vibrant character in music. The Council is looking for a memorable and catchy song that will appeal to a wide variety of people.

Devon County Council’s Deputy Leader John Smith said: “We hope to find a song that will have wide appeal and can be sung in locations from primary schools to churches or football matches! Devon County Council’s championing of the Devon flag has been met with incredible enthusiasm – it’s now visible all over the county. We hope people will show similar pride in their county to come up with a song that captures the spirit of Devon”.
