Devon County Council

As part of its commitment to 'Green Travel' the County Council is actively seeking to reduce the number of cars travelling to County Hall. All visitors and staff are requested to consider the alternatives.

Cycle facilities
Cycle stands are available outside County Hall main reception and Lucombe House.
A map of the Exeter Cycle Network is also available.

Bus services
Services K, R, S and T operate from Exeter High Street to Topsham Road (for County Hall). For more information on timetables and services please contact Traveline

Park and Ride
Facilities are located at Sowton Sidmouth Road and Honiton Road, Great Moor House at the end of the A30 and at Marsh Barton on Matford Park Road and express bus services are available to Exeter High Street.

Train services
Main line and Branch line train services - operate to and from St Davids Station, St Thomas Station and Central Station.

Walking/Driving from Exeter St David's Station
Head north towards A377/Bonhay Road. Then turn right at A377/Bonhay Road and keep going for almost a mile then do a slight left at Frog Street. From there continue on to the B3212/Western Way for about quarter of a mile. Turn right at B3182/Holloway Street and continue for about half a mile. Turn left at Matford Lane, then first turning on the right will take you to the car park of County Hall.

Walking/Driving from Exeter Central Station
Turn left from the station and walk towards the traffic lights. Turn right down Paul Streetand then left up North Street. Continue over the four cross way down South Street. Continue on to B3212/Magdalen Street, turning right at B3182/Holloway Street. Continue for about half a mile along B3182 then turn left at Matford Lane. First turning on the right will take you to the car park of County Hall.

Walking/Driving from Exeter St Thomas Station
Turn right from the station along B3212/Cowick Street and left at A377/Alphington Street/ Continue for about half a mile along B3212/Frog Street and turn right at B3182/Holloway Street for another half a mile. Turn left at Matford Lane and then first turning on the right will take you to the car park of County Hall.

Total distance 1.5 miles.

Car parking for visitors is limited to 50 spaces and cannot be reserved. It  is available outside main reception in Car Park A (access to County Hall reception is via the steps). Car Park D has disabled parking access to main reception via a ramp and paved cloister to main reception door, (a push button is provided to automatically open the door). Disabled parking is also provided in Car Park E for easier access to the Committee Suite / Conference Facilities. If this entrance is used, non smart card holders will need to contact main reception, in advance, to allow smart card collection at the committee entrance.

When the visitor car park is full, an illuminated sign will be activated at the side of the approach road and entry to the car park will not be possible. On street pay and display parking is available for up to 2 hours.
