New school hall opened at Musbury Primary
From David Hutchings, Exeter 382594, July 07,2008
MUSBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL'S new school hall will be officially opened on Friday (July 11).
The hall has an innovative, wave-like design with a living sedum roof.
Devon County Council contributed £60,000 towards the cost of the project and the authority's Vice Chairman, Douglas Hull, will officially open the hall at 2pm on Friday.
The rest of the cost was raised by pupils' fundraising and contributions from the village and school community.
The school says the new building is having a positive impact on teaching and learning and the general welfare of pupils and staff.
Pupils love the new building and its surroundings.
Councillor Hull, who is the local county councillor for the area, said:"I am very pleased that, at last, the school has its new hall.
"The children will not be so cramped now and I would like to congratulate the governors on their successful campaign and all the staff and parents and everyone else who supported it."
NOTE TO NEWS EDS: Reporters and photographers are welcome to cover the opening at 2pm on Friday, July 11.
