Highways staff at community meeting

From Adrian Lane, Exeter 383262, November 17, 2008

HIGHWAYS staff from Devon County Council will take part in a meeting in Braunton on Thursday 27 November to identify the community's priorities for local roads.

The County Council is among those taking part in the Partners and Community Together (PACT) surgery, which will be held at Braunton Parish Hall from 2pm until 6pm.

Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon County Council representatives will be available at the surgery where the emphasis will be on highways and traffic management. However, there will also be an opportunity to discuss any issues of concern.

Councillor Margaret Rogers, Devon County Council Executive Member for Environment, said: "This open, drop-in style surgery is a good opportunity for our highways team to meet with residents from the Braunton community to listen to their concerns about traffic management and roads."

Councillor Jenny Jenkins, Devon County Councillor for Braunton rural, said: "This is a good chance for people to influence what happens in their neighbourhood by having their say on issues and concerns they feel the County Council and other authorities need to address."
